Remote SMS I/O

OptoGSM I/O provides a low-cost, flexible solution for simple remote monitoring and control using standard cellular phone technology, short message service (SMS) messaging, and off-the-shelf G4 input/output (I/O) modules. Requiring no programming and only simple configuration, the OptoGSM I/O rack is ideal for monitoring small or remote facilities a with low point count. It will operate at any location with GSM mobile phone coverage.

Monitoring typically may include: Temperature, pressure and flow Doors, fans, lights, pumps and generators Equipment line voltage and current draw In addition to real-time monitoring, simple on/off control can also be performed. Both monitoring and control can use the full SMS limit of 160 characters. OptoGSM I/O is also compatible with Nokia M2M Gateway Software included in the Nokia M2M Platform. Two models of the OptoGSM I/O are available: The G4PB8D-NOK is a digital-only rack with space for eight OPTO22 G4 digital I/O modules (five outputs and three inputs). The G4PB8M-NOK is an analog/digital rack. It can also supports up to eight digital G4 modules and in addition includes three built-in analog inputs: two all-purpose current/voltage analog inputs, which can be configured as 0-5 volts, 0-10 volts, or 4-20mA, and an ICTD temperature input. Digital inputs and outputs for both models are provided by proven OPTO22 G4 I/O modules . Select from a wide range of AC or DC modules to meet your application needs. OPTO22 G4 digital I/O modules offer optical isolation, which provides 4000 volts of protection against external transients. Inputs and outputs have individual LED indication and outputs are individually fused with 3A switch rating.

The OptoGSM I/O rack includes an internal dual-band antenna, external RF connector and is ready for communication on the GSM network (requires SIM card). A DB9 connector provides PC configuration access to the Nokia Connectivity Terminal. Configuration Software is included. Three LED indicators show systems status, signal strength and communication information.
